The elderly from Grădinari commune, actively involved in the social life of the community

Grădinari commune continues to be an example of success in the social integration of the elderly through the GraDAL system. This system not only provides daily support and direct access to social workers, but actively involves senior members of the community in various social and volunteer activities.

Within the project, the elderly in the commune are not only beneficiaries of technological support, such as mobile phones for quick contact with social managers, but also active participants in improving the life of the community. They got involved in planting trees and arranging green spaces in the local area, contributing to the beauty and sustainability of the environment.

The images capture these moments of solidarity and collaboration: from planting trees around public institutions to everyday activities in public gardens and fields, seniors demonstrate that they can be an active force in the community. “It is a joy to see them involved and contributing both to the improvement of the environment and to the strengthening of social relations in the commune. They are an example for all of us”, declared the mayor of Grădinari commune.

GraDAL not only facilitates quick access to social services through mobile phones and medical equipment, but also stimulates the active participation of the elderly in community life. Each activity carried out by them is a demonstration of the fact that the elderly can contribute significantly to the social life and development of the locality.

The project remains a best practice model for other communities in the country, offering both technological solutions and engagement opportunities for seniors. This mix between social support and community activities has transformed Grădinari commune into a place where all members, regardless of age, play an essential role in local development.
